Seeing everything that's going on in Israel lately I thought I'd post what I think is some interesting information about "The Day of Catastrophes of God's People" which is called Tisha B'Av which is August 11/12 this year. The following things are said to have happened on this date: 1. When the spies came back from checking out Israel and then gave a bad report, the forefatheres were sentenced not to enter Israel. 2. First temple destroyed. 3. Second Temple destroyed. 4. Betar captured (I think this is a city, but haven't found out why it's so important). 5. Jerusalem plowed over. 6. In 1492 Jews expelled from Spain. 7. In 1914 World War I started. 8. In 1942 first killings started at Treblinka. I got this info from a couple of different Jewish email lists I subscribe to. I do believe that Jewish feasts and anniversaries are important including the fact that next year is Israel's Jubilee (50th) year and that Jerusalem "became of age" this year by turning 30. Just fyi, Moza
