Deuteronomy 29:1
JPS 29:1 And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them: Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;

ONK 29:17 lest there should be among you a man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart is turned away this day from the fear of the Lord our God, to go after the worship of these Gentiles; lest there should be with you a man who imagineth wickedness or pride,

JPS 29:18 and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying: 'I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart—that the watered be swept away with the dry';
ONK 29:18 that, when he heareth the words of this oath, he should reckon in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I go on in the imagination of my heart to multiply sins of ignorance with (sin of) presumption.
PAL 29:18 or it be that when he heareth the words of this curse he become reprobate in his heart, saying: I shall have peace, though I go on in the strength of the evil desires of my heart: so that he will add presumption to the sins of ignorance.

JPS 29:19 the LORD will not be willing to pardon him, but then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy shall be kindled against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven;
ONK 29:19 The Lord will not absolve him, but now will the anger and indignation of the Lord break forth against that man, and all the curses which are written in this book will cleave to him, and his name will be blotted out from under the heavens.

JPS 29:24 then men shall say: 'Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them forth out of the land of Egypt;
ONK 29:24 Then shall they say. Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which He ratified with them when He brought them out of the land of Mizraim.

JPS 29:25 and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods that they knew not, and that He had not allotted unto them;

JPS	29:20	and the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.

Deuteronomy 29:21

Deuteronomy 29:22
JPS	29:22	and that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and a burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the LORD overthrew in His anger, and in His wrath;

JPS	29:23	even all the nations shall say 'Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?'
ONK	29:23	even all the nations will say, Why did the Lord thus to this land? What caused the fury of this wrath?
PAL	29:23	the whole land burnt with brimstone, salt, and fierce heat, no longer fit for sowing, nor productive of a blade of any springing herbage; ruined, as Sedom and Amorah, Admah and Zeboim, were overthrown by the Word of the Lord in His wrath and indignation;


Deuteronomy 29:24
JPS	29:24	then men shall say: 'Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them forth out of the land of Egypt;
ONK	29:24	Then shall they say. Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which He ratified with them when He brought them out of the land of Mizraim.
PAL	29:24	then all people will say: Why hath the Lord done so unto this land? What meaneth the strength of this great anger? And they will say, Because they forsook the covenaut of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Mizraim.


Deuteronomy 29:25
JPS	29:25	and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods that they knew not, and that He had not allotted unto them;
ONK	29:25	For they went and served the idols of the Gentiles, and worshipped fearful things which they knew not, and which could do them no good.
PAL	29:25	But they went after their evil desires, and served the gods of the Gentiles, and worshipped gods which they had not known nor had any part with.


Deuteronomy 29:26
JPS	29:26	therefore the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book;
ONK	29:26	And the anger of the Lord waxed strong against this land to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book.
PAL	29:26	And the anger of the Lord waxed strong against this land, to bring upon it all the curses written in this book.


Deuteronomy 29:27
JPS	29:27	and the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day'.—
ONK	29:27	And the Lord cast them away from off their land in anger, indignation, and great violence, and drave them captive into another land as at this day.
PAL	29:27	And the Lord hath made them to wander forth from their country with anger, indignation, and wrath, and hath cast them into captivity in another land until this day.


Deuteronomy 29:28
JPS	29:28	The secret things belong unto the LORD our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
ONK	29:28	The things which are secret are before the Lord our God; and those which are revealed are ours, and our children's for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
PAL	29:28	The secret things are manifest before the Lord our God, and He will take vengeance for them; but the things that are revealed are delivered unto us and to our children for ever, to perform by them the thing that is right, for the confirmation of all the words of this law.
